"Our gender pay gap is virtually zero with just a 0.38% disparity."
According to the Office for National Statistics, the national median gender pay gap for all employees in April 2020 was 15.5% down from 17.4% in the previous year. Although there is continual national progress in closing the gender pay gap, there is still so much more to be done to create a more equal society and encourage equal professional development.
At CCM Group, we are committed to empowering women in business and driving forward further change for the representation of women in leadership roles. In support of this movement, we recently carried out an internal survey which reported the following highlights with regards to gender equality in the workplace:
Our gender pay gap is virtually zero with just a 0.38% disparity
67% of our leadership roles are held by women
63% of our workforce is female
Trent Peek, Group Director at CCM, said: “Our focus is to create a working environment that is progressive, empowering, and supportive of flexible working options.
“Sadly, the gender gap is still very prevalent in society and as a business leader of a workforce that is relatively female-heavy, I know how important it is to be a part of leading the change for gender equality and empowerment in the workplace.
“We have over 40 amazing members of staff at CCM Group that all bring their own individual behaviours, skills, passion and drive. However, we have been, and will always continue to push for equality in the workforce.
"I'm a big believer of practicing what you preach and so we recently conducted an in-house survey which highlighted some pretty incredible results, such as a 0.38% pay disparity between men and women.
“I could easily argue that women have more attributes and skills to lead our business and achieve long-term success. However, it goes without saying that all sexes, races, ages and nationalities are always recognised as equal at CCM and we couldn't be more excited for the diversity we have within the company as we continue to grow.”
To support the wellbeing and development of our people even further, we’ve invested heavily in our business, implementing a number of initiatives and incentives to empower our workforce. Examples include, a ‘work from anywhere’ scheme, our journey to enabling a climate positive workforce and the implementation of a new wellbeing strategy, led by our Head of People, Chelsea Peek. The wellbeing strategy encompasses initiatives such as weekly wellness sessions, an internal mentoring scheme, dedicated personal development time and an annual training budget encouraging individuals to strengthen their skills and experience through taking part in various training courses and relevant qualifications.
Trent concludes: “It is an exciting time for the business and our people who are part of it. We have lots of plans in the pipeline to grow and develop CCM Group even further, but at the forefront of our minds will always be to ensure we continue to be a great place for everyone to work.”
