"Loving your job and the people you work with is a wonderful thing." ‐ Holly
Did we mention that we’ve recently tripled our workforce? Yes, we admit, we’ve shouted about this quite a lot.
It’s been brilliant to welcome so many energetic and talented people to the business within the past year, however, we must emphasise how equally proud we are of our committed, longer standing members of the team. They’ve seen first hand how the company has transformed, the milestones achieved and challenges overcome.
We have interviewed a number of our OGs and first up, we have the fabulous Holly!
Q. Hey Holly! Give us some of your work nicknames, your job title and length of time with CCM Group?
A. I’m known as Holly, Hol, Briggsy, Briggadeer, Brolly, Holly with a Y (as we have a Hollie with an IE) - pretty much anything goes! I’m the Procurement Manager at CCM Group and have been with the company for over five years.
Q. Favourite thing about being part of CCM?
A. It most definitely has to be the people (and doggies) - we have such a diverse team. The fun and games we have and the ‘family’ atmosphere. I have never worked for a company that cares so much about its employees. There isn't a day that goes by that we aren't laughing together and sometimes crying together (all thanks to a pandemic!). Loving your job and the people you work with is a wonderful thing. Not only are you bringing home the bacon, but you also get the added reward of feeling fulfilled, accomplished, and satisfied each time you stroll out of the office or in more recent times out of the dining room, living room, kitchen or wherever else we set up camp working from home! Do what you love, and you’ll never work another day in your life.
Q. Can you explain the change in roles you have experienced over the years at CCM?
A. I might be better listing them, I’ve had quite a few!
- Sales Support
- Sales Support Manager
- Account Manager
- Senior Account Manager
- Procurement Manager - In my most current role I take lead on sourcing products for the group, developing these to our business needs and focusing on our supplier relationships and developing these both in the UK and overseas.
Q. A different role a year then Holly! How many members of staff were there when you first joined CCM Group?
A. 14 in total.
Q. What’s been your favourite or most monumental memory/experience with CCM Group?
A. I think this has to be when we had our 2020 away day, we set our goals for the future and discussed as a team our purpose and values. Enabling greatness was born!
This was the start of things to come - although we ended up fast forwarding by about five years and we are already where we expected to be much further down the line! CCM Group will always take the opportunity to include all of the team in the strategy for growth and development, this makes it a monumental experience to know we have all seen, shaped and contributed to the growth and success of the company. Of course it is always followed by a company ‘social’ and competition of last man standing - (always drink responsibly!).
Q. What’s the biggest change you’ve witnessed at CCM Group from when you started to now?
A. Steve and Penny Peek’s retirement in 2019 which kicked off the growth and rapid expansion of the business and the team! Steve and Penny were the previous owners of CCM Group and handed the business over to Trent Peek, Chelsea Peek and Kendal Peek in 2019.
Thanks for sharing your CCM experience with us so far Holly! We will have another instalment of ‘CCM Through the Years’ coming soon.
